Our full time design engineer works closely with Phil Levett,
our Workshop Manager to create entire exhaust systems or consult on
designs received from designers.
Having worked with Formula 1 designers for over 15 years Phil Levett is familiar with many aspects
of exhaust design or manufacturing techniques that have been used
in the past. With prior consultation we are often able to reduce
both the cost and time scales involved in the fabrication and
machining of complex exhaust parts.
We can fabricate from a CAD model with no need for technical
drawings.
We often have to reverse engineer customer parts into 3D CAD
models. We take bespoke components, reverse engineer the design and
improve them, in order to make a part that will perform better and
be less likely to fail. For more information, please download our Reverse Engineering
presentation.
Many designs do not take into account the realities of
fabrication. With 25 years of fabrication experience at the highest
level we can quickly tell if a design can be easily made or whether
an alternative approach would work better.
We can sometimes reduce costs by adapting designs to fit our
extensive bend tooling set or simplifying the design to reduce the
cost of fabrication, without ever having to compromise on
quality.
We are able to fabricate complex systems by the use of press
tools that are designed in-house. Although a more costly option
than conventional tube bending, pressings give the customer
complete freedom of specification and are less expensive than
alternative methods such as hydro forming or laser sintering.
