Good Fabrications, or GoodFabs as we are more widely known, have been at the forefront of top-level motorsport for more than 40 years and are now seeking a Junior Design Engineer to join our busy team.
The successful applicant will be based at our base in Long Crendon, Buckinghamshire where they will play a key role in supporting our customers and in-house teams with the design of tooling and fixturing to deliver components to our customers across the world.
Reporting to the Production & Quality Manager, the Junior Design Engineer will have the following responsibilities:
· Design and development of products to meet customer specifications
· Design of tooling and fixturing
· Liaison with customers on design issues and suggested improvements
· Liaison with in-house fabricators and machinists
· Maintenance of an in-house Customer Part Library
· Issue of POs in respect of laser cut parts with external supplier
· General office duties
Skills & Qualifications
· Good experience with Solidworks or equivalent 3D CAD system
· Interest and knowledge of fabricated and machined parts
· Methodical approach with good verbal and visual communication skills, ability to present themselves in a confident manner
· Ability to work under pressure
· Ability to work under own initiative and as part of a team
· Strong organisational skills
· Awareness of confidentiality requirements
