Due to an increasing workload, GoodFabs are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our Inspection team.
Based at our Long Crendon HQ, this is an ideal opportunity for a school leaver or graduate looking to take their first steps into the world of precision engineering within a highly-respected Company with more than 40 years' experience in their field.
The successful applicant will learn the various quality and inspection techniques employed within top-level motorsport and engineering as a whole.
Quality Inspection at GoodFabs ranges from small individual components up to full assemblies used on F1 cars and vehicles across all levels of motorsport across the world.
Reporting to the Senior Quality Manager, the Trainee Quality Inspector will receive full training for the role and will have the following responsibilities: Â
Working within the Inspection team to ensure all parts meet customer specification
Processing of Inspection via the Company ERP system (M1)
First off inspection
Final inspections including completing First Article Inspection Reports to customer requirement (FAIR’s) where required
Interpreting design drawings
Use of a Faro Arm and the programming associated with it
Use of Co-ordinate Measuring Machine (CMM)
Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and Pressure Testing duties
Inspection to agreed levels of inspection allocated to customers
Inspection of parts from external suppliers to be used in the fabrication process as directed by the Production & Quality Manager
Raising any technical issues internally or externally to ensure they are addressed, and that clients and colleagues are kept informed of progress
Ensuring products released from the control of the company are done so in accordance with the inspection requirements of the customer and provision of all relevant supporting documentation
Ensuring all inspection-related documents are properly filed and organized in marked trays
Receipt and logging of materials into the business
Responsibility for general housekeeping in the Quality / Inspection department

Excellent organisational skills
Ability to demonstrate strong decision making and problem-solving skills
Strong attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills
Good knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of products
A desire to learn new skills
