GoodFabs are seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic individual to join their busy team as an Insulation Technician working on a range of parts including F1 & IndyCar.

The role
As a trainee insulation technician, you will be schooled in all elements of the heat shielding process from reading technical drawings to working with a range of materials including stainless steel, inconel and titanium. You will be partnered with a mentor who will instruct you in how to insulate parts manufactured in these various materials as well teaching you how to correctly utilise the various tools and processes required to wrap a range of parts from collectors and silencers, right up to primary manifolds and race exhausts.
Trainee Summary
The trainee role will comprise of on-the-job learning in our busy workshop.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:00 - 15:30, 40-hour week
Location: The GoodFabs workshop in Long Crendon, Bucks
The successful applicant will undertake a structured training scheme to learn / duties include:
Learning the various processes involved in the insulation of parts to an extremely high standard and in line with the specifications of customers and / or the business
Learning to interpret design drawings and job cards before starting work on an insulation process and during the steps to ensure accurate completion
Learning internal quality control standards and ensuring they are met
Ensuring parts are completed in line with the agreed production schedule
Preparation of insulation patterns and materials for jobs
Ensure the measurement & cutting of insulation material for covering surfaces is undertaken following safety procedures
Ensure the safe removal of old insulation and replacement with new insulation is undertaken as per customer requirements
Ensure the fitting of insulation and spot welding of material meets the expected quality levels
Ensure the cutting and pressing of materials follows the applicable safety procedures
Ensure items placed in the oven for burning off is undertaken following safety procedures and relevant oven logs are completed
Being in a position to safely and competently produce insulated parts to the standards required by the business
